Porteus

Porteus is a complete linux operating system that is optimized to run from CD, USB flash drive, hard drive, or other bootable storage media. It’s small (under 300Mb) and insanely fast which allows you to start up and get online while most other operating systems are left spitting dust. Porteus comes in both 32 & 64 bit and aims to keep on the bleeding edge. Porters has a unique way of running as well as handling packages. I used to use Puppy a lot and have recommended it many times, but find Porteus to be more polished. One of the things I really like is the ability to download .deb packages and convert them with a simple right click. If I decide I don’t need the program I simply delete the single module and it is gone. Nothing is left behind. I can even install and uninstall modules in ram before exposing my system to anything.
